The CSA is a farming model that seeks to retore the relationship betwen people and their food supply.
Today, the average consumer has no idea where or how their food was grown. CSA farms are a cooperative effort by farmers and shareholders to build a sustainable food system based on a socially and environmentally responsible business model. The relationship between farmer and shareholder becomes one of mutual commitment. Through memberhip, the shareholder helps sustain the farmer during the "off-season" when we are busy pruning, starting plantings, beginning the growing season. The farmer then supplies the shareholder with a bounty of freshly harvested vegetables and fruit each week throughout the growing season.
Blades Orchard is in the seventh year of CSA. Every year it gets better.
